Crunchy Drops

Ingredients
185g (6oz) butter
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups self-raising flour
1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tbsp milk
60g (2oz) walnut pieces
125g (4oz) dates
50g (2oz) glace cherries
cornflakes

Method
  1. Cream together butter, vanilla and sugar until white and fluffy
  2. Add eggs one a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Sift flour and soda together
  4. Add one third of flour to creamed mixture, fold in, add 1 tbsp of milk; add another third of flour and rest of milk; add rest of flour. Mix well.
  5. Stir in chopped walnuts, dates and cherries.
  6. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough into cornflakes, toss lightly.
  7. Place on grease oven trays.
  8. Allow room for spreading.
  9. Bake in moderate oven for 15 mins or until light golden brown
